The Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rolled out the national home health compare website on November 3, 2003. Through this web-based service, available at:
www.medicare.gov/HHcompare/home.asp, consumers can learn about home health agencies that serve their geographic areas and access quality reports when choosing an agency. These reports are periodically updated and can be checked out at any time.
Hospitals, Physicians, and patients all have the right to know exactly what is on these reports, and to that, exactly who gives the highest quality care. As a Physician or Hospital, use these reports when selecting an agency. As a patient, use these reports in talking with your physician about which home health agency is right for you.
